Do I need to know D&D to play?: No. The AI explains every roll, manages your sheet, and offers choices each turn. If you can read English, you can play.
Can I bring a homebrew world?: Yes. On the campaign-creation page, describe your setting in plain English — the AI handles canon, tone and creatures. You can also publish it to the community library.
What happens if I die?: Permadeath is opt-in. By default, falling to 0 HP triggers death saves D&D-style; three failures and the saga ends. Many players consider that the highest compliment a story can pay them.
